आजच्या आपल्या अवस्थेमध्ये 'मी ब्रह्म आहे' असे म्हणणे बरोबर नव्हे! ~ श्रीमहाराज

श्रीराम. एका शास्त्रीबुवांनी श्रीमहाराजांना विचारले, "मी तुझा दास आहे असे सारखे म्हणत गेल्याने गुलामवृत्ति वाढणार नाही काय?" त्याऐवजी 'मी ब्रह्म आहे' असे आपण का म्हणू नये?' श्रीमहाराज म्हणाले, "ज्ञानमार्ग असो की भक्तिमार्ग असो, खरा 'मी' कोण आहे हे ओळखण्यासाठीच सर्व साधने असतात. आज आपल्याजवळ खोट्या 'मी' चे प्राबल्य आहे. ते नाहीसे करणे जरूर आहे. खोटा 'मी' गेला म्हणजे खऱ्या 'मी' ला कुठून बाहेरून आणण्याची जरूर नाही. तो प्रत्येकाच्या अंतःकरणात स्वतःसिद्ध आहेच. म्हणून खोट्या मी ला मारण्यासाठी भगवंताचे - जगाचे नव्हे - दास्यत्व पत्करणे फार अवश्य असते. आजच्या आपल्या अवस्थेमध्ये 'मी ब्रह्म आहे' असे म्हणणे देहबुद्धीला वाढवील. ते बरे नव्हे. 'मी ब्रह्म आहे' या अनुभवातसुद्धा मीपण आहे. नाम त्याच्याही पलीकडे आहे; म्हणून फक्त नाम घ्यावे! heart emoticon

There is a saying, 'I don't want to become sugar; I want to eat it.' Therefore, I never feel like saying, 'I am Brahman.' I say, 'Thou art my Lord and I am Thy servant.' My desire is to sing God's name and glories. It is very good to look on God as the Master and on oneself as His servant. Further, you see, people speak of waves as belonging to the Ganges but no one says that the Ganges belongs to the waves. The feeling 'I am He' is not wholesome. A man who entertains such an idea, while looking on his body as the Self, causes himself great harm. He cannot go forward in spiritual life; he drags himself down. He deceives himself as well as others. he cannot understand his own state of mind. Unless one has learnt to love God, he cannot realize Him. I never ask Divine Mother to give me anything. I pray to Her only for Pure Love- 'शुद्धा भक्ति!' heart emoticon
